The Thomas Cole National Historic Site in the Hudson River Valley, NY is working with us on replacing exterior lanterns for his home, Cedar Grove. Thomas Cole was a prominent 19th C landscape painter, and the pioneer of the Hudson River School. It has been fascinating working with the preservation architect, board chair, and the national park service to chose the best, authentic period piece and work within government budgets and procurement.
I learned the property has only been a National Historic Site for 10 years but has accomplished a great deal in that time and is looking forward to renovating the artists studio next. Take a moment to check out the website and see the great programs, walks etc.
